Renewal/Cancel Updates!!!!

Things i did not post in last article!

BOBS BURGURS WAS RENEWED BY FOX!

THE PAUL REISER SHOW WAS CANCELLED BY NBC AND WILL BE REPLACED WITH OFFICE RERUNS AT 8:30!!!!

MAY UPFRONTS 2011 MY PREDICTIONS

WHAT ARE THE MAY UPFRONTS: The May Up are when the broadcast networks announce to the press their upcoming fall schedules  and decide which Shows to renew or cancel. This is when fans find out if their favorite TV show was cancelled or not.

The Following article will be mine and mine only predictions of what I think should happen at the  upfronts regarding current television programs and weather or not I think they will be renewed or not. NONE OF THIS IS FACTUAL BUT OPIONATED!!

Already Renewed
CBS: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, Undercover Boss, The Amazing Race, Survivor and Two And A Half Men (BUT…)

ABC: Modern Family, Grays Anatomy, the Middle, Cougar Town, Private Practice and Castle.

NBC: The Office, Parks and Recreations, 30 Rock, Community, Who Do You Think You Are, Minute To Win It, and The Biggest Loser

FOX: Fringe, American Dad, The Cleveland Show, Raising Hope, The Simpsons, Family Guy And Glee.

Already Cancelled

CBS: Live To Dance and Medium.

ABC: The Whole Truth and My Generation.

NBC: The Cape, Chase, Undercover and Outlaw.

FOX: Running Wilde, The Good Guys and Lone star.

MY PREDICTIONS.

CBS: CBS is the most watched network on television and it has some of the top rated shows on it. All of their shows are doing extremely well and while some networks may keep shows that are pulilng raitings that CBS shows are doing, they do have the right to be pickey about what they bring back from this season. Some obvious picks to bring back are NCIS:LA, Mike and Molly, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, CSI, CSI Miami and Hawaii 5 O.

For comedies, the schedule only leaves in so many hours that CBS have an obligation to air them. Monday nights have 4 shows on, and as Thursday cureently stands, they have 2 shows airing back to back. With That, Rules of Engagement would be renewed. CBS also said during a press tour in January that they want more comedies on the schedule. So, with Big Bang ancoring Thursday nights, they could expan it another hour, allowing one other comedy to come back, $#*! My Dad Says or Mad Love, while leaving in room for 2 new sitcoms. Mad Love has been proforming awful on Monday nights, and way below what Rules Of Engagement was doing on that timeslot, But, when Rules move to Thursday nights, it proformed around the same that $#*! Did in that timeslot, which means only one thing. I would Renew $#*! My Dad Says and cancel Mad Love.

CBS only has so many hours in its schedule to have dramas brough back with and they would want 2 or 3 new ones on the schedule in the fall, so this is when the pick and choose thing could come in. First, I would Cancel The Defenders. I love Jim Belushi but this show has been proforming awful on Friday night and was underproforming on Wednesday which is how it got exiled to Friday Nights. Blue Bloods, on the other hand, has been proforimng well on Friday nights with an older demographic, so to keep the nursing home audience happy (LIKE THEY DID IN JHONNY CARSONS LAST FEW YEARS ON THE AIR) I would Renew Blue Bloods. The Good Wife’s raitings have been sophening, but the critics love it. I would Renew The Good Wife and send it to Firdays just to have it on the schedule. With math, this would say that CBS’s Fall schedule would be full with, 2 or so new comedies and 3 or so new dramas added to the lineup. So, the rest that didn’t make the cut in the raitings can go, Flashpoing, CSI:NY and Criminal Minds Suspect Behaviour are all cancelled.

ABC: With ABC, a lot of shows are currently under rated right know, so lets start cancelling. Off the Map, Detroit 187, No Ordinary Family and Better With You are all cancelled. V may be back as a mid season replacement in November or so like they’ve done in the last few years so I would keep that around for a bit. Desprite Housewives and Brothers and Sisters would be renewed. The only reason why it hasn’t yet because the housewives are still scratching deals for pay and other money stuff so ABC can’t announce anything yet. If ABC is like CBS, and really mean it when they say they want more comedies, I would keep around Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings depending on how Endings proform at 10 on Wednesday. If it underproforms from a 2.2 and 5.5 million viewers, Mr. Sunshine will certantly come back while Endings get the axe.

NBC:  NBC is number 4 within all the 4 big networks, Number 5 if you’re counting Univision (SPANISH NETWORK). Most of their showsw are under rated and are most likely going to be axed. The Event and Perfect Couples are sure to be cancelled.  Those are the two lowested rated shows out of all of NBC. Everything else on NBC, Law And Order SUV, Parenthood, Harrys Law, Chuck and Law And Order LA are all certain to come back. With what they’ve cancelled already and whats expected to be cancelled, theres no guesswork in this that they will have plenty of slots open for new shows .

FOX: FOX has put themselves in a rough spot for next season. As everyone surly knows, FOX is the only network without a 10 PM timeslot, which gives them only 14 Hours or original primetime programming versus the 22 hours the other networks gets. Next season, FOX has already locked in The X Factor to be on in the fall, which, like idol, is sure to take up 3 hours of the schedule. Everything else that has already een renewed, Cops, AMW, Simpsons, Glee, Family Guy, ETC. takes away 6 ½ more hours from that estient. Plus, FOX has also given a 13 episode order to a new Sci-Fi show Terra Nova for next season. But, it has been having some production probmes so it may not even air until midseasons. Also, you have to expect it to have a new comedy airing with Raising Hope and a new drama, so with all that FOX only has 2 hours left in the Fall to fill, so FOX has every right out there to be pickey about what to cut and what to bring back. First, Human Target, Traffic Lights, Chicago Code, and Bobs Burgues are all cancelled. Most of these shows are in their first season still and are underprofoming, so their duds. Bones and House are sure to get renewed for the fall, their some of the highest rated dramas on FOX and they wouldn’t be cancelled. The only reason they havn;t been announced yet is for one, they are cutting deals with the actors and the studios and agreeing on production costs, and two they still want to leave something for surprise at the upfronts to announce. This year, FOX scheduled Lonestar for the fall, and it was an instant flop. FOX was lucky enough to have given Lie To Me a 13 episode order for next season, so they where able to slide Lie To Me in their to air out the rest of the fall, and it proformed as it was expected too, 7 million viewers an episode, 2.3 in the 18-49 demographic rating, so why not keep it as a replacement. I honestly think Lie To Me will be renewed, and besides its creeping up on cutting expensive syndication deals if it can get in over 80 episodes. Finally, I think Breaking In would be renewed because if you think of it logically, Idol is getting shorten down 30 mintues as more contestents are going home, so you would think The X Factor, after a while, would also get shorten down, and FOX can put in Breaking In in that last half hour, and why not. It all really comes down to what pilots they might have, but I do think Breaking In Would be renewed.

Mr. Sunshine, What fait lies for it???

Mr. Sunshine is an ABC sitcom staring Friends alum Matthew Perry. The show is about manager of the sunshine center, Ben Donovan (Perry), and his everyday life. The show is tremendously funny and i sud guest you go take a look on hulu.com for any remaining episodes that may be on there.

Even tough the show has my approval, it is in somewhat danger of not being picked up in may for another season. Their ratings started out good, 10 million viewers or so at the premiere, but by the end of the shows run, it was getting an average of 5 million viewers a night. This was a factor of many things. First, since it's premiere, FOX's Show killer, American Idol, moved into the Wednesday at 9:30 neighborhood. In case people out there don't know this already, American Idol comes in, and kills every show in the ratings that are airing agents them. Idol moved in, and the ratings slowly started to fall. 7 million, than 7.5, than 6.2, and so on.

Second, Mr. Sunshine, after the first two episodes, lost it's Modern Family lead in audience, and was now airing at the end of a comedy block full or reruns. Reruns attract less viewers than a new episode would. While Modern Family new at 9 may bring in 13 million viewers, Mr. Sunshine at 9:30 would bring in 10 Million. Thats how a lead in works, people watch the first show, and the networks try to get people to stay tuned to the show after it. But with Modern reruns, its a different story than a ratings glory. While Modern Family rerun will score 6 Million viewers in a rerun at 9, Mr. Sunshine would average 5 Million viewers, thats how reruns work. With Idol competition and a Modern Family rerun as a lead in, is not good for ratings.

If i was ABC President of entertainment Paul Lee, i would renew Mr. Sunshine come renewal time for a second season of 9 episodes or so again. I think that Mr. Sunshine had a shitty shot this round of showings, with a modern family rerun lead in and a Idol competition, i think Mr. Sunshine should have one more time to shine!

Mr. Sunshine giving the finger!

Welcome TV Lovers

Dear Internet,

My name is Rj Sheedy, some of you on the internet may recognize me from my twitter name, Rjsheedy35, or my Sitcoms Online user name, R.jsheedy. Well welcome to my blog. This is where i can post my toughs, on just about everything TV, with a little help from insider experts such as tvbythenumbers.com, The deadline, sitcoms online, futon critic, and everybody else on the internet.

I love sitcoms and Late Night programs. They are my favorite and i love to laugh whenever it's appropriate to. For example, if i'm at my best friends funeral, i would not burst out loud laughing my ass off, i would be holding my head down, in respect of the dead corpse in front of me, and i will be showing my utmost respect for my fallen con rad.

I will be attempting to post to this blog at least once a day, since i have no social life of my own. I hope that people will find what i have to say interesting, and if you don't, whatever i don't care your just some loser reading this stupid blog because you got nothing else better to do (says the person writing the damn thing because he himself has nothing to do). Check back periodically for my analysis on TV.

Regards,
Rj.

P.s, I'm sorry for my hair, it's always been that way!
